F-1B/1: Adjustable One-Sided Lead Forming System

Our basic adjustable one-sided SMT Lead Forming system. This tool allows adjustment of most dimensions on an SMT form, but the foot will be fixed. This unit is an excellent entry level machine perfect for short to high quality production runs.

There are three standard versions of this system. Custom systems will be quoted as requested.

• F-1B/1 a standard tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" with a body thickness maximum of .150 above and below the forming lines.
• F-1B/1/SP a special tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" with a body thickness maximum of .350 above and below the forming lines.
• F-1B/1T a special tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" with a body thickness maximum of .400 above and below the forming lines to handle thick packages. Special customized versions of this tool can sometimes handle .500 above the forming lines.
• F1B/1-4 a large tool that can handle parts up to 4" x 4" with a body thickness maximum of .150 above and below the forming lines.

• Shown in an optional 3300 hand press, tool will mount in either a hand press or a 5000L air press

• Plated to prevent rusting
• SMT Gullwing forms on almost any flat package 2 of 4 sided, changing all dimensions.
• Adjustable back stop with linear slide holds package cases parallel for accurate registration.
• All models process top-brazed, side-exit or bottom-brazed packages with optional parts.
• "Digital Micrometers" on all tools, which can be switched from inch to metric and zero'd for easy recalibration and/or resetting by the operator.
• Easy to change die members for large variations in lead material thickness, hardness, AND / OR shape.
• Standard tools handle up to 2.5” packages.
• Large tools handle up to 4” packages.
• For Quads: Tie Bars, and or Tie Bar Corners need to be removed prior to using this model tool.

F-1B/1: Adjustable One-Sided Lead Forming System

Our most versatile and adjustable one-sided SMT Lead Forming System. This unique tooling system includes an adjustable tie bar cutter and an adjustable former in one system. The system allows the removal of tie bars from most flat packs and quads and also adjusts any dimension on an SMT form including the foot dimension. This unit is an excellent entry level machine and is perfect for short to medium high quality production runs and R&D.

There are three standard versions of this system. Custom systems will be quoted as requested.

• F-1B/3A is standard tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" with a body thickness maximum of .150 above and below the forming lines

• F-1B/3A/SP a special tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" with a body thickness maximum of .350 above and below the forming lines to handle thick packages.

• F-1B/3A/T a special tool that can handle parts up to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" with a body thickness maximum of .400 above and below the forming lines to handle thick packages. Special versions of this tool can sometimes handle .500 above the forming lines, if the tool is customized.

Lead Forming Specifications

• Shoulder dimension (B) minimum is determined with an easily removable insert.
• Lead material thickness maximum (C) and (G) radius are accommodated with the same removable insert for consistent forms.
• Standoff (A) is controlled with a built-in, 1:1 ratio, maintenance-free micrometer.
• Lead exit point (D) is a maximum of .150", or a total body thickness of .300".
• Foot length (X) is infinitely variable on the F-1B/3A.
• Heel radius (H) is determined by the easily interchangeable upper former.
• Optional 4" tools meet similar features and specifications.
